ICDC (International Camp Directors Course) and AOCC (Asian Oceania Camping Congress) have been held in this 10/23rd to 10/30th in Japan Tokyo.
I was in the hosting team as a volunteer staff, and spend about 10 days in National Youth Olympic Center in Yoyogi Tokyo.
Was hosting ICDC… as I was in classroom taking trainers course at the same time.
There were 33 participants and 3 trainers from 10 different countries in all over the world!
We shared precious moment as we discuss, share experiences, laugh and play together!
It was great opportunity for me to feel and share the values of camping and experiential learning. This new relationship with the heartwarming classmates gave me the energy to move forward and keep contribute to this industry.
I learned a lot through the real process of planning and delivering this training course.
We learn how to solve problems as solving problems.
We learn how to cooperate as asking real helps and supporting.
We learn how to be happy as being happy!
After the course, I was supervising AOCC volunteer staff : group of 40 people (most of them are students). It was also great opportunity for me to learn how to manage international camp-like event with about 500 people from 20more different countries.
On the 29th of October, I had the chance to present some report from my camp experiences.
This whole week was a good chance for me to reflect myself and my professional life in camping.
Thank you for coming all the way to Japan!
I hope all of the participants enjoyed this congress.
Hoping to see my camping friends again soon in the future.
